In short, ID-Tasker is like Actions in Photoshop – for now, without recording option.

ID-Tasker can replicate all the clicks that you would have to perform manually – either by mouse clicks or keyboard shortcuts – as Tasks and execute them on demand.

Once Task has been created – it can be executed on the currently selected Object(s) / Text – or, in BatchMode, on all Visible & Selected objects on the list. There are multiple lists – for Documents, Objects, Texts, Tables, Hyperlinks / Bookmarks / Cross-Refs / etc., all Styles: Object / Paragraph / Character / Cell / Table, XML is presented as a “flat” database.

No more repeating same operations 100s of times – one click and it’s done – and you won’t even have to leave InDesign, you can execute Task by simply executing shortcut directly from InDesign – or you can stop using InDesign directly – and control it through the ID-Tasker – load complete structure of the Document(s) – Objects / Texts / Tables / etc. – and browse thought it – no need to use mouse at all.

You can either automate operations you have to do when processing single document – or you can process 100s of files – IDT can even work for you when you are home, playing with kids or during the night or over the weekend and the job will be done and ready for you the next morning – you can even check progress online.

And even if not everything could be fully “described” as a Task – sometimes human-touch is needed when, for example, you need to decide which image should be placed and where – you can always use  rule to pause the Task and do something manually directly in the InDesign – “pitch in” – and then continue the Task.
